The start of 2012

Just a little update...
The 18th of January we lost my (Jeannie's) dad in a traffic accident. It was sudden, and of course completely unexpected. He was just 61. We will miss him a lot and especially we will miss having him see us grow as a family and be grandpa, as well as dad. We are thankful that he is with the Lord and trust that however all that works, he can still rejoice with us, from glory, in God's great blessings over us.

Amelia has blossomed yet again, she is like the most amazingly beautiful flower that you can picture, and layer by layer, day by day, little petal by little petal, we have the privilege of seeing her unfold and come into herself more and more. She is a wonderful delight and I can hardly believe that it is possible to feel even more deeply the love I have for her. But, somehow I do.

She just began saying "bow wow" when she hears a dog or sees a dog, or apparently thinks of a dog! Don't get me wrong, she adores Chloe too, but she seems to have an insatiable interest in all animals. Music is her other love, throughout the day she can often be seen dancing, swaying, and even singing her own little tunes. And then there is food. Much to our great delight, and sometimes our disappointment, she will eat anything! She chows down on mushrooms, pork chops, red peppers, oranges, cucumbers, bananas, yogurt, plain or flavored! chicken in any form, baked beans, spaghetti, and...... cat food! We had to move Chloe's food to the top of the fridge because honestly, I just got tired of sweeping cat food out of Amelia's mouth. I think it's more that she thinks Chloe is her friend and playmate, than an actual acquired taste for cat food, but still....let's stick to the other things!
